Newborn Photos: Welcome Margot!
Previous wedding clients of mine welcomed their baby girl Margot into the world a couple of weeks ago. Erin and Nick were married six years ago and I was fortunate enough to photograph their wedding at the Fairmont, San Francisco and St. Ignatius Church. It's always fun to see former wedding clients as new parents. Margot is just the most petite little sweetie and I was thrilled to meet her and share in another intimate milestone of Erin and Nick's lives!
And here are a few photos from Erin and Nick's lovely wedding!

Kansas Wedding - Erin and Justin!
So pleased to share photos from Erin and Justin's Kansas St. Patrick's day wedding! (You got a sneak-peek of their wedding a couple weeks ago!) The location was Stony Point Hall in Lawrence, KS. Erin and Justin really lucked out with weather for their outdoor ceremony! It could have snowed, but luckily we had nice weather and an early spring. I found a lovely drive lined with blooming trees for their "first look" and a few portraits, and then we moved on to Stony Point Hall for some lovely "in the field" portraits and the rest of the festivities. Erin outdid herself by hand-making fabric-covered needlepoint rings. Loved the various patterned fabrics used throughout. Even some fabric roses in the bouquets, fabric tied napkin rings and fabric tied bouquet stems. Of course there were some St. Patrick day surprises, including dancing back down the aisle by the bridal party incorporating various St. Patrick's day goodies! Congratulations Erin and Justin!
Vendors involved in Erin and Justin's wedding included:
Location: Stony Point Hall
Event Design and Coordination: Red Door Event and Design
Florist: Red Door Event and Design
Caterer: Culinaria Food and Wine

Kansas Wedding - Erin and Justin Sneak Peek!
My dear friend Angela's sister got married in Kansas this past Saturday and I was fortunate enough to be asked to photograph. The Midwest has been blessed with an early spring and when scouting for shooting locations the day before the wedding I came upon this avenue of flowering trees. Erin and Justin agreed to have their first look in this spot (sight unseen!) and I also asked if we could have the flower girls ready to go since I knew it would be a gorgeous setting. I was so thrilled by the light and the beauty of my bride that I had to post a few peeks. Also, I was thrilled to see the lovely chair Erin had brought to the venue for pictures. Wanting to use the Kansas countryside, I had the groomsmen place the chair in a field for some pretty shots. More to come when the edit is done!
Springtime daffodils to brighten your day!
I shot an e-session last night for a friend in the biz. Erica Lewis is the creative force behind Erica Rose Design. Doing an e-session with a florist reminded me to shoot the lovely daffodils I picked up at Trader Joe's the other day. At $1.29 per bunch, you can get LOADS and have lovely springtime throughout your house! You don't have to be a floral designer to put together a bursting simple bouquet. Love, love, love the color yellow! Keep an eye out for Erica's e-session pics soon!
Angela's brood grows bigger!
My friend Angela knows about the importance of a good photography and I'm thrilled she likes my work enough to keep having me record, with photos, when her family grows. I most recently photographed Angela in a maternity shoot, along with her husband with their beautiful girl Miranda. She was pregnant with her son at the time, and we waited to do the family shoot a few months so that Lucas could hold up his head a little more and so that we could shoot outdoors. Here are some of my favorites from the shoot. Angela also gave her sister Erin the great gift of wedding photography and I flew to Kansas for that honor.
Death Valley Vacation!
One benefit of having a seasonal business is that with wedding photography in the bay area, winters are VERY slow, therefore my husband and I try to take at least one long vacation. We stayed on the west coast this year and went on a two week trip up the eastern Sierras with the highlight being Death Valley. I've never been, but have always loved the desert and wasn't disappointed. Death Vally is absolutely huge. Vast and desolate, it's indescribably beautiful. I don't even think pictures do it justice, but I thought I would share a few from our point and shoot. I rarely bring the big cameras on vacation and in this case we backpacked for five days of the trip making it more practical to bring our Panasonic Lumix. LOVE this camera with its Leica lens and wide angle capability! Also the dynamic black and white setting gives great black and white results!

Sylvie's Six Month Shoot!
I just love doing a seven month series of shoots with parents-to-be. In this case, I photographed Elanne and Chris' maternity shoot, Sylvie's newborn shoot and her six month mark. I think it's a GREAT way to record the process. Adding a nine month and one year shoot is even better! Enjoy a few photos from each shoot and watch the progression to Sylvie at 6 months!
