Sonoma Mystery Shoot - Sneak Peek!
Fairmont San Francisco Swigg Suite Local Fashion Shoot
Per my recent post, I was thrilled to be featured in the current issue of SF Brides magazine. As a follow up, I want to share a few more photos from our shoot! A big thanks to Suzanne Hanley or Atelier Des Modistes, couture wedding gown designer in San Francisco and Kathleena Gorga of Conscious Beauty who did hair and makeup. Melissa Comito of A Simple Ceremony did flowers, but unfortunately most of our focus was on the gowns!

Marin Headlands for the Arts - Didi and Tim
As always, it's wonderful to photograph weddings at Marin Headlands Center for the Arts. It's such an original location and even on a dark stormy day offers wonderful photo opps. I just loved this late fall wedding with warm touches of candles and heart-warming food. Svenja of Chestnut and Vine went over-the-top with the flowers and Katie Powers and crew turned out yet another perfect feast of locally grown and organic food. I had the special treat of seeing Rebecca (the site manager) who acted as day-of coordinator too! Didi and Tim and families also couldn't have been nicer and all had a fabulous time! Florist: Chestnut and Vine
Half Moon Bay Golf Links - Sam and Jeff
The Half Moon Bay Golf Links ceremony location and staff are just great. I always love shooting there! Plus the bonus golf cart ride to the beach for the portrait session is such fun! Freezing, Rainy Five Minute E-Session
I don't usually post e-sessions while I'm up to my ears from the wedding season, but I had to post a few from this one because it's a miracle we got anything at all from this session! I always tell clients that for e-sessions I shoot "rain or shine or fog" because with SF weather, I would have to be rescheduling constantly to wait for "good" weather, but I also always say "unless it's POURING rain". I called Brian and Austin at around 2:30 the afternoon of our e-session to say that I thought the weather was unusually bad and that we should probably reschedule, however, Austin had already gotten her hair and makeup done and I was already going to be near Baker Beach (our shoot destination) to shoot a rehearsal dinner, so we decided to meet anyway. I told them to bring an umbrella. When we arrived, the wind was WHIPPING and freezing off of the ocean and although it wasn't a downpour, it was raining pretty hard. None of us wanted to get out of the cars! BUT I said, we're here, let's just shoot for five minutes and see what happens. SO these shots, plus lots more were truly taken within about five-ten minutes. My cameras were malfunctioning and soaked by the time the last few shots were taken and we were all freezing, but I think for five minutes of shooting we got some fun stuff!
PS - Of course the GG Bridge was nowhere to be found!
Headlands Center for the Arts - Style Me Pretty Feature!
Wow! I didn't even see this when it was published! Here's another great feature on Style Me Pretty! Loved Kelly and Eddie's "green" wedding at Headlands Center for the Arts. Sadie of "One Big Fish" a certified green planning company helped coordinate and Julia of Bloomies in Oakland did a great job incorporating flowers the couple grew in their won backyard into her floral designs for the day. Check out the story on Style Me Pretty

I'm thrilled that my good friend Beka's DIY wedding is featured today on Style Me Pretty! I flew to Arizona in September to photograph and had a blast shooting all of the pretty little details that Beka hand-crafted. Check it out on SMP and my own blog post will be up here later today to follow up! Direct link: http://www.stylemepretty.com/2010/11/12/handmade-wedding-by-julie-mikos/#respond

DIY Wedding - Beka and Josh
As mentioned when I posted the Style Me Pretty link, I had such fun photographing Beka's wedding! Beka also happens to be a wedding photographer who used to come out to SF to assist me. I guess a lot of what she learned, she learned from me and then she photographed my own wedding! Beka and Josh's wedding reception was hosted and held t my good friend's home in a little mountain town in Arizona. We all pitched in to decorate the house and yard with the great crafty details that Beka created. Lucky for us, Kathy is a great stylist. In fact I met Kathy when she used to style home interiors for me when I was shooting for the interior design magazines. Oh, that was many years ago! Have fun looking at this wedding. So adorable!
Sonoma Private Estate - Trish and Bronson
Trish and Bronson had such a gorgeous outdoor wedding with great details. Stephanie Beer of Covenant Coordinating did a wonderful job of coordinating this "At Home" wedding on a large property. Everything was brought in and in the planning stages for over a year. The results were so gorgeous and I thought Kate's flowers were so bright and perfect for that gorgeous tent setting! Wedding Location: Private Estate
Wedding Coordinator: Stephanie Beer of Covenant Coordinating
Catering: Grapevine Catering
Cake: Fleur de Lisa
Florist: Kate Stanley Design, Calistoga
