Mandy and Jim!
This was a destination wedding for these Texas familes and they chose a couple of great locations with the help of wedding coordinator Stephanie Beer of Covenant Coordinating. I was fortunate enough to photograph the rehearsal dinner in the cave at Bella Vineyards and then stayed over in lovely Healdsburg to photograph the wedding the next day at Landmark Vineyards. Mandy and her mother have such great taste and did a lovely job working with the other vendors to come up with a casual yet elegant look for both events. So very pretty! Rehearsal location: Bella Vineyards
Wedding location: Landmark Vineyards
Coordinator: Stephanie Beer of Covenant Coordinating
Florist: Maria Philbin
Catering: Pacific Connection
Hair and Makeup: It's a Date

Danny!
Danny is the son of former wedding clients Rachel and Dan. I also had the pleasure of photographing Danny last summer at their home on the east coast when is was just a little tiny baby. He's grown so much!
Jennifer and Shawn!
Oh how I love Tiffany blue and so does Jennifer. Just loved the freshness of this wedding. The Tiffany blue and white theme for a seaside wedding was so pretty. This was the first time I have photographed a wedding at the new Oceano Hotel in Half Moon Bay. Pretty place and loved the staff! Location: Oceano Hotel
Flowers: Alena Jean Designs
Catering: Oceano Hotel
Welcome Rowan!
Such a darling little guy. Only seven days old when I photographed him! The concept for the adorable photo with the hat is actually from the site "Etsy". I did not see a photo credit on there, but this is what mom had planned for our shoot and we did it, but I have to give credit where credit is due even though I shot it!
This series cracks me up with his proud but antsy big brothers....
Grandmother holding newborn=precious:
Micaela and George E-Session!
It's funny that I go through stages with locations and it just so happened that Baker Beach was involved with my last three e-sessions, BUT every one is just so different. Lighting is different, wardrobe is different and so are personalities. This e-session was shot the very next day after Rebekah and Drew's, yet it's so different. Each couple was in from out of town and ended up doing an extended e-session with two locations including Baker Beach but they are still very different. We were so lucky when we shot this one. There were dolphins leaping around right off-shore! I was having such a great time and all the while exclaiming how much I love what I do! Better than an office any day (although I have plenty of that when I edit)!
Wow! Kate Moss or what? Gorgeous!
Cutest little rental car for their visit!
Had a hard time editing this series because I loved it so much....
Didn't have a good lens with me for shooting wildlife, but like this shot of Micaela and George watching the dolphins.
Rebekah and Drew E-Session!
We had a blast at our mid-day e-session! The skies threatened rain and it had poured the whole day before, but we got lucky and ended up having really dramatic clouds, but no rain. And Wow! Look at Rebekah's legs! If I wear shoes like that will my legs look like that or does that take a lot of running? Hmmmm.
Tiffiny and Shaun!
What a stylish couple and a fun wedding. It's been a while since I shot a ceremony at St. Dominic's in Pacific Heights because it's been under renovation for so long. It still is, but enough on the sidelines that it's barely noticeable. It's such a gorgeous church. We had fun running around the city after the ceremony and then on to the Cliff House for the reception. What fun!
Glad I was around for this great moment....
My assistant Johanna took this lovely shot...
This may be one of my favorite shots ever. I think it's hilarious....
When Tiffiny put on the aviator glasses and jacket I went into creative LOVE!
Brand new shiny ring...
Published on I Do Venues!
I like this new wedding resource called I do Venues and am pleased they just published one of the weddings I shot at Auberge Du Soliel. Look for more of my work on I Do Venues from previous weeks!
Published on Style me Pretty!
So excited to be published again on Style me Pretty! I submitted this wedding that I shot a few years ago for their recent feature for fashion week. They didn't use it for the fashion week spread, but published it on my Little Black Book blog. I shot Sarah and Matt's wedding on 7/7/07. Sarah is still one of my most stylish and creative brides and I'm thrilled that her wedding is finally getting it's proper due! Sarah has since started her own letterpress company called "Hearts and Anchors"! Have her design your wedding invitations and save-the-dates! She's super creative! Here's a few screen captures from Style me Pretty. You can also view the whole feature on SMP: Style me Pretty - Sarah and Matt
The Ferry Building San Francisco - Taylor and John!
This gorgeous wedding was held at St. John's Presbyterian and The Ferry Building. What a beauty! Most of the family and guests were from out of town, so it was considered a destination wedding for all but the bride and groom and their Stanford gang! Thanks to Amy Nichols, Paula Le Duc Fine Catering and all of the other vendors for making it so beautiful! Credits:

The band rocked the HOUSE!
Late night snacks!
Pretty and yummy favors:
Kasia and Keith!
Such a sweet couple! Kasia has one of the greatest smiles I've ever seen and I just loved Keith's quiet New Zealand demeanor. Oh and the flowers at this wedding were so gorgeous!!! Location: The Brazilian Room in Tilden Park
Flowers: Sharla Flock Designs
Catering: Trumpet Vine
Alissa and Bill!
It was so nice to be able to go to Chicago for this intimate Friday wedding. My family is in Chicago, so I jump at any chance I get to go visit. My sister works with Alissa and that's how we connected. I hadn't been to this location since I visited as a kid, so it was kind of a blast from the past! The location is called Cantigny. They didn't fly me all the way from San Francisco to not take a ton of pictures, so we had one whole glorious hour for our photo session!
Natalie and Mike E-Session
What fun to shoot Natalie and Mike's e-session in their own neighborhood. We had a lot of fun! I thought it was very funny that Tartine Bakery has the name of the original shop still embedded in their entry door:
Maureen and Kevin!
I photographed Kevin's sister's wedding a couple of years go and was so pleased I was available to photograph Maureen and Kevin's wedding at the Monterey Plaza Hotel and see the family again!
Someday I'm going to do a photo essay on butter. I love photographing the butter.
.....and look at this pretty thing!
I remembered well, how emotional Kevin's father's speech was at his sister's wedding and he had everyone blubbering again at Kevin's wedding....
So sweet watching the slideshow:
Kevin's grandmother couldn't get to the dance floor, so Kevin came to her:
Pretty Things
Sometimes the simplest things inspire me and make me happy. I was inspired at last Saturday's wedding by some of the simple, but lovely flower arrangements. When I was shopping at Trader Joe's on Monday I saw some of the flowers used in the arrangements, so for $10.00 I brought them home and did my own arrangement. It's five days later and they aren't as fresh, but still pretty gorgeous to look at. Then I was making my breakfast and was inspired by how pretty the brown eggs and finished product looked. Yum! See the beauty in all that surrounds us!
Welcome Max!
I photographed Allie and Rick's wedding at the gorgeous Nestldown two years ago and now baby Max makes three! Allie and her Mom are total Do-it-yourselfers and had a great time decorating Max's room!
Children's Portrait
So happy to have had the opportunity to photograph Bridget and Jim's newest addition to their family! I've had a couple of previous posts explaining that Bridget and Jim live in the Chicago area and I photographed their wedding in Chicago several years ago. Since my family is in Chicago, I let them know when I'll be in town and we schedule a portrait session. First it was Francie, then came Winnie and now Burke!
Kaci and Mike Part II
I posted a few teasers a couple of weeks ago after I gushed about how much I love my clients and what I do. Still gushing and so is Kaci! Here's what she wrote to me today after viewing their slideshow: "Mike & I are over the moon!!!! OMG! We love, love, love them! Thank you, thank you, thank you! Julie you captured the day sooo beautifully and we will truly treasure these forever! I can't wait for our family and friends to see!"
Loved this wedding!

Snippet & Ink & Grace Ormonde's New Book!
You know, it's funny. Sometimes I don't even know when I've been featured on a blog or in a book! I was chatting with a friend on the phone and she told me she did a google search on my name and there were five pages of results! Out of curiosity, I did the same thing. I never knew I had been published on Snippet & Ink! Just a little photo of some paper crane placecards, but fun, never-the-less! Check it out on Snippet & Ink. Also, I just got a notice from Grace Ormonde that some of my work is featured in her new limited edition book! It looks like it is a gorgeous book. It's called "Grace Ormonde Weddings - Being in love never goes out of style"
