Danny is the son of former wedding clients Rachel and Dan. I also had the pleasure of photographing Danny last summer at their home on the east coast when is was just a little tiny baby. He's grown so much!
Welcome Rowan!
Such a darling little guy. Only seven days old when I photographed him! The concept for the adorable photo with the hat is actually from the site "Etsy". I did not see a photo credit on there, but this is what mom had planned for our shoot and we did it, but I have to give credit where credit is due even though I shot it!
This series cracks me up with his proud but antsy big brothers....

Welcome Max!
I photographed Allie and Rick's wedding at the gorgeous Nestldown two years ago and now baby Max makes three! Allie and her Mom are total Do-it-yourselfers and had a great time decorating Max's room!
Children's Portrait
So happy to have had the opportunity to photograph Bridget and Jim's newest addition to their family! I've had a couple of previous posts explaining that Bridget and Jim live in the Chicago area and I photographed their wedding in Chicago several years ago. Since my family is in Chicago, I let them know when I'll be in town and we schedule a portrait session. First it was Francie, then came Winnie and now Burke!
Ethiopia Slideshow!
I'm back a little more than a week now from an amazing experience of travel in Ethiopia. I mentioned in my last post that I was going with two dear friends to help them bring home their two newly adopted children. Not only did I experience gorgeous scenery, wonderful people and some wild animals, but I also got a glimpse into the pure emotion and joy of the adoption process. Not only did I experience this with my friends, but with the other families staying in the guesthouse with us. I am truly blown away by these amazing new parents who have opened their hearts and homes to just a handful of the 4.5 million orphans in Ethiopia. I have a somewhat condensed slideshow for public viewing. Of course the slideshow I've created for my friends includes a lot more of the meeting their kids and getting to know them shots! I've snuck a few shots in this slideshow, but mostly this is about the overall experience. Here is a link to the slideshow: Ethiopia and here are a few teasers. Enjoy!
The Rey Family
Boy! It's that time of the year! Lots of family portraits! I've been photographing the Rey family since before their first boy Ethan was born. In fact, he was a pea in the pod when I did Nicole's maternity shoot. Now they have two boys and I continue to shoot their family portrait every year. It's been fun watching the boys grow!

Welcome Danny!
Rachel and Dan were married just two weeks after my own wedding in June of 2008. Since then, they have moved into a house, gotten two puppies and had little Danny! What stress! BUT, they seem to be doing just fine. Danny isn't quite a newborn anymore, but still a little peanut! It was my pleasure to go to Washington D.C. to photograph their new little love.
The two pups. Not quite puppies anymore, but still a handful! So cute!
Welcome Henry!
Former wedding clients Carrie and Craig had Henry last spring and were waiting for me to take a trip to Chicago to visit my family so that I could do a photo shoot. So glad they live where I grew up and I hope to keep doing their family photos as time goes on! Poor little guy was teething and in pain, but we managed to get a few smiles out of him and some funny other expressions too!
Logan!
All in the Family!
I photographed sweet Ruby a couple of years ago when she turned one and now it was her sister Greta's turn. Family was in from Australia, so we did a big family shoot, but it was mostly about Greta. Thanks Sharon and Mark. Your girls are so lovely!
Welcome Kamiko!
You may recall seeing my friend Sara's maternity photos a few weeks ago. Well, here is Kamiko! Almost three weeks late, Kamiko is still just a little peanut. I just love photographing the newborn stage within two weeks of birth. These photos were taken a week and a half after Kamiko's birth. So tiny and I think B&W and skin shows just how fragile we are when our lives begin.

This cracks me up. I don't think Guapo the dog is too sure about the disturbance of peace!
Gabriella!
A couple of years ago, I photographed Madeline's maternity session and we FINALLY did a photo shoot of her little girl Gabriella. She was such a sweetie!
Welcome Matthew!
Former wedding clients, Lisa and Josh (September, 2007) welcomed their son Matthew into the world! He's so gorgeous and was only a little more than two weeks old when we photographed him. He was a great sport! Grandma was there and was baking cookies the whole time I was shooting and we were all rewarded for our hard work with a cookie at the end of the shoot. I love when I get to spend time with clients over and over again! Here are a few of my faves:
So alert for two weeks old!
He has his dad's feet!
Adoring parents.....
The Eames Family
You have probably guessed from the last couple of posts that I'm catching up and also posting portrait shoots for the first time. I primarily shoot weddings, but once in a while I'm asked to do a portrait shoot. It's fun and when I have time, I take some on! Here is the Eames family:
